The holiday season is upon us. It’s is always a busy one with visiting, dinners, out of town guests and decorating. Holiday decorating is one of the best parts about being a Certified Home Stager so I’ve gathered my favorite last-minute decorating tips right here for you!
My top 5 simple decorating tips will give your home some holiday charm in no time.
Double up.
If you typically hang one wreath on your door, hang two. Hanging one wreath above the other will give your entryway twice as much holiday charm. Choose wreaths that have bright and seasonal colours to add a pop of color to create a welcoming front porch.
Create some simple centerpieces.
Creating seasonal centerpieces can be a fun snowy day activity. Dust some fake fruit with glitter and silver to give them a snowy appearance. Place them in a large glass bowl and you have a beautiful wintery centerpiece. If you have some old outdoor Santa lights laying around they are another great addition to your home. Dip in glue and glitter and place in a bowl for a simple and festive look.
Display your holiday cards.
All those holiday cards you receive are another great way to give your home a Christmas touch. Try securing your cards with clothespins to a string and hanging them in your home. A blanket ladder is also another neat option to store blankets for the cold winter nights and your holiday cards to.
Get crafty.
Hand made ornament wreaths are extremely popular. Even for those who aren’t super crafty, these can be tons of fun to create. Your local craft store will have circular foam to use as the center. Choose your colour scheme and get started hot gluing your ornaments on.
Start wrapping.
Wrapped presents serve a dual purpose when decorating your home for the holidays. Wrap your gifts in colour coordinated paper, with bows and ribbons to use for added decoration under your tree.
I am always interested in new decorating ideas. What are your holiday decorating traditions? I’d love to hear about them!
Wishing you and your family all the best this holiday season!
