As an interior designer and home stager I am often asked my opinion about interior design trends and my favorite places to shop. Here are my top 5 favorite sources for home décor. Some are local to Toronto, but each has online shopping available which makes them ideal for everyone!
1. If you haven’t yet checked out Elte and Elte Mkt you absolutely need to. Both are located here in Toronto and offer a variety of items including modern furniture, area rugs, light fixtures and lamps, mattresses, linens and more. You can be sure you’ll find what you’re looking for and more at either location!
2. Urban Barn is fantastic for every room in your home. Their website even offers a room planner so you can design and decorate for a visual before you buy. Plus, the company is Canadian!
3. Union Lighting and Furnishings is Canada’s largest lighting showroom. Online, Union Lighting has an option to shop by style including modern, traditional, rustic and youth. Their solutions centre is incredibly helpful and answers every question you could have when decorating your home.
4. Wayfair is a great source to shop from the comfort of your own home and even offers free shipping throughout Canada! I love Wayfair’s fantastic prices and ensure that the quality of their products has always met or exceeded expectations.
5. Houzz is a great source for so many different reasons. I love that businesses on Houzz can tag their photos to let others know what products were used and where to get them. I also love the wide range of creativity and style displayed because of the vast knowledge of thousands of professionals. A great feature is that you can collaborate on different ideas with the professional of your choice giving your opinion and working your way to a final design.
